Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Sign Camera ("we," "our," or "the App") is an iOS application that lets you capture photos and watermark each one with your identifier and a "No AI" mark. This Privacy Policy explains how Sign Camera handles information when you use it.

Sign Camera is built on a privacy-first principle: everything happens on your device. The App does not have a backend, has no servers, contains no analytics SDKs, and never transmits any of your information to us or any third party.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information We DO NOT Collect

Sign Camera does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Personal identifiers (real name, email, phone number, account credentials)
• Photos or images from your device
• Camera frames, video, or facial images
• Biometric or facial recognition data
• Location data sent to our servers (see Section 4)
• Health, financial, or contact information
• Usage analytics, crash telemetry, or behavioral data
• Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or fingerprinting data

2.2 Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The following information is stored only on your iPhone or iPad, never transmitted:

• Display name — the name you typed during setup. Saved in iOS UserDefaults so it can be stamped onto each photo.
• Drawn signature — if you draw a signature in the Set Signature sheet, the resulting transparent PNG is saved to the App's private Documents directory. It is not synced or backed up to anything outside iOS's standard iCloud/iTunes backup mechanisms (which you control).
• Watermark preferences — your choices for color, position, size, date stamp on/off, and location stamp on/off, saved in UserDefaults.
• Trial timestamp — the date your 7-day free trial started, saved in UserDefaults so the App can determine whether the trial is still active.
• Purchase entitlement — a flag indicating whether you have purchased the lifetime unlock. The flag is set after StoreKit confirms the purchase with Apple. We do not see your Apple ID or payment information.

You can wipe all of this at any time by deleting the App.

2.3 Information Collected by Apple

When you download or purchase items inside the App, Apple may collect information as described in Apple's Privacy Policy. This includes purchase records, app download metadata, and optional crash reports if you have opted in to share them. We do not have access to this information.

3. How the App Uses Your Camera

Sign Camera requires access to your device's camera so you can take photos. We want to be transparent about how this works:

• The camera is only active while you are on the camera screen.
• Photos are processed entirely on your device. The watermark composition (text, signature, date, location, "No AI" mark) is applied locally using Apple's Core Graphics framework.
• No photos, frames, or facial images are sent off your device by Sign Camera.
• You can revoke camera access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera. The App requires camera access in order to function.

4. Optional Location Stamp

Sign Camera can optionally stamp your photos with the city you are in. This feature is off by default and is only enabled if you turn on the "Add location" toggle.

• If you enable the location toggle, the App requests "While Using the App" location permission from iOS.
• When you take a photo, the App reads your current location, performs a reverse geocode lookup using Apple's CLGeocoder service, and stamps the resulting city name onto the photo.
• The reverse-geocode request goes to Apple's geocoding servers, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Your location is not sent to us.
• You can disable the location stamp at any time by turning off the toggle in the Set Signature sheet, or by revoking the location permission in iOS Settings.

5. How the App Uses Your Photo Library

Sign Camera saves the watermarked photos you take to the iOS Photos library so you can view, share, and delete them like any other photo on your device.

• Saved photos are added to your camera roll AND to a "Sign Camera" album that the App creates the first time you save a photo.
• The in-app Library tab reads from this album using Apple's Photos framework so it can display your signed photos. This read access stays on your device.
• Sign Camera never reads, modifies, or transmits photos that were taken outside of Sign Camera. The "No AI" claim only applies to photos captured directly in the App.
• Deleting a photo from inside the App or from iOS Photos uses Apple's standard "Recently Deleted" mechanism — recoverable for 30 days, then permanently removed.

6. In-App Purchases

Sign Camera offers a single non-consumable in-app purchase: Sign Camera Lifetime (USD 1.99). This unlocks the App permanently after the 7-day free trial.

• The purchase is processed by Apple's StoreKit framework. We do not see, store, or process payment information.
• Apple shares with us only an anonymized confirmation that the purchase was made and remains valid; this confirmation is verified locally on your device.
• The purchase is family-shareable, so members of your Apple Family group can use the unlock at no additional cost.
• You can restore your purchase at any time using the "Restore purchases" button in Settings — this re-checks your StoreKit entitlements with Apple.

7. Children's Privacy

Sign Camera is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. The App does not collect any data from any user regardless of age, and contains no advertising, social features, or external links beyond this Privacy Policy and our support email.

8. Third-Party Services

Sign Camera does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or social-network SDKs. The only external services touched by the App are operated by Apple:

• StoreKit — for processing the lifetime in-app purchase.
• CLGeocoder — for converting GPS coordinates to a city name, only if you enable the location stamp.
• PhotoKit — for saving photos to and reading photos from your iOS Photos library.

9. Data Security

Because Sign Camera does not transmit any of your information off your device, there is no risk of a server-side data breach exposing your data through us. Your name, signature, watermark preferences, and saved photos remain under your control on your device, protected by iOS's standard sandboxing and device encryption.

10. Your Rights and Choices

You have complete control over the App and your data:

• Access — your name, signature, and saved photos are visible to you inside the App at all times.
• Modify — you can change your name and re-draw your signature from the Set Signature sheet at any time.
• Delete — you can delete individual signed photos from the Library tab; you can clear all App data by uninstalling the App from your device.
• Revoke permissions — you can revoke Camera, Photos, or Location access at any time in iOS Settings → Sign Camera.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top. If a future version of the App introduces any data-collection features (analytics, accounts, sync), we will provide notice through the App or the App Store listing before that change takes effect, and update Apple's privacy nutrition label accordingly.

12. International Users

Sign Camera is available globally and is localized in English, Spanish, Japanese, French, German, and Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal). Because the App does not collect or transmit any data, there are no cross-border data transfers and no region-specific privacy considerations beyond what is described in this policy.

Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By installing and using Sign Camera, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. License

Sign Camera grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, in accordance with the Apple Standard End User License Agreement.

3. The "No AI" Mark

Sign Camera stamps live in-app captures with a "No AI" mark to indicate that the photo was taken using your device's physical camera and not synthesized by generative AI. This mark applies only to photos captured directly inside Sign Camera. Sign Camera does not stamp imported photos and makes no claim about the authenticity of any photo not captured inside the App.

You agree not to misrepresent imported, edited, or AI-generated images as having been captured in Sign Camera, including by re-photographing AI-generated content through the App's camera.

4. Free Trial & Purchase

Sign Camera offers a 7-day free trial that begins automatically the first time you open the App. After the trial, photos you take continue to receive the user watermark, but a small "Sign Camera (trial)" badge is added to each saved photo and photo export resolution is capped at 2048 pixels on the long edge. Purchasing the lifetime unlock removes both limitations permanently. Lifetime purchases are one-time, non-recurring, and non-refundable except where required by law or by Apple's App Store refund policies.

5. Disclaimers

Sign Camera is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted. The App is a personal photo tool; it is not a forensic, legal, or evidentiary product, and the "No AI" mark is not a substitute for any legal authentication of imagery.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sign Camera shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the App.

7. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
