Privacy Policy for AuthenticCam
Last Updated: April 23, 2026
1. Introduction
Shenzhen Fu Kang Heng Development Co., Ltd. ("we," "our," or "us") operates the
AuthenticCam mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how
we handle information when you use our App.
AuthenticCam is a camera app that lets you take photos and stamp them with a
visible watermark and a tamper-evident SHA-256 hash embedded in EXIF metadata,
so you can prove a photo was captured by a real camera and not generated by AI.
We are strongly committed to protecting your privacy. The App is built on a
privacy-first principle: all photo processing happens on your device and nothing
is ever sent to us or any third party.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information We DO NOT Collect
AuthenticCam is designed with your privacy in mind. We do not collect, store,
or transmit any of the following to our servers:
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
- Photos you take with the App
- The contents of your Photo Library
- Your location
- Biometric or facial recognition data
- Usage data, analytics, or app activity tracking
- Device information or advertising identifiers
- Any other personal data sent outside your device
2.2 Information Collected by Apple
When you download the App from the Apple App Store or make an in-app purchase,
Apple may collect certain information as described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
This includes:
- App download data
- Purchase and subscription records (processed by Apple's StoreKit)
- Crash reports (if you opt-in to share with Apple and the developer)
We receive anonymized, aggregated sales reports from Apple for accounting purposes
but do not receive your payment details. Please refer to
Apple's Privacy Policy
for details on how Apple handles your data.
3. How the App Works Locally
All functionality in AuthenticCam operates entirely on your device:
- Photo Capture: Photos are captured using your device's
camera via Apple's AVFoundation framework. Capture, preview, and
watermarking all happen on-device in real time.
- Watermarking: The visible watermark (Classic, Minimal,
Journalistic, Branded, or Scan to Verify style) is drawn directly onto
the photo by the App on your device. No image data is uploaded during
this process.
- Authenticity Hash: The App computes a SHA-256 hash of
the final photo's pixels and embeds it in the JPEG's EXIF UserComment
field. When you later view the photo, the App can re-compute the hash
and verify it matches — proving the photo has not been edited since
capture. This computation happens entirely on-device.
- Location in Photos: If you grant Location permission,
the App writes the capture location into the photo's EXIF GPS fields
(same as Apple's Camera app). Location is used only to tag
photos you save; it is never transmitted to us or any third party. If
you deny Location access, photos are saved without GPS data and all
other features continue to work.
- Photo Library: Saved photos are written to your device's
Photo Library and added to a dedicated "AuthenticCam" album so the
in-app gallery can display them. The App does not read photos you took
with other apps.
- Settings & Preferences: Your selected watermark
style, trial usage counters, and purchase receipt state are stored
locally on your device only.
- Offline Operation: The App functions completely offline.
The only time the App contacts Apple's servers is during a purchase flow
or receipt validation, both handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit.
4. Camera Access
The App requires access to your device's camera solely to take the photos you
choose to watermark. We want to be transparent about how this works:
- The camera is only active while you are on the capture screen
- No photos are captured or saved until you tap the shutter button
- No photos are uploaded or transmitted off your device by the App
- You can revoke camera permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy
& Security → Camera. Note that the App requires camera access to
take new photos; the gallery and verification features still work
without it.
5. Photo Library Access
The App requests access to your Photo Library for two purposes:
- Saving photos: So photos you take with AuthenticCam
are written into your library and added to the "AuthenticCam" album.
- In-app gallery and verification: So the gallery screen
can display your saved AuthenticCam photos and re-verify their hashes.
The App does not access, upload, or analyze photos you took with other apps.
Photo Library access can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.
6. Location Access
The App optionally requests access to your location. If you grant access,
the capture location is embedded in the EXIF GPS fields of photos you save,
in the same way as Apple's built-in Camera app. This information stays in
the photo file on your device.
- Location is only read while the capture screen is active
- Location data is never transmitted off your device by the App
- Location is written only to photos you choose to save
- If you deny or later revoke location access, photos are saved without
GPS data and all other features continue to work normally
7. In-App Purchases
AuthenticCam offers optional paid subscriptions and a one-time lifetime
unlock that remove daily photo limits and unlock all watermark styles. All
purchases are processed by Apple's StoreKit framework:
- Payment details (credit card, Apple ID, billing address) are handled
entirely by Apple. We never see this information.
- Your current entitlement state (free, trial, pro) is stored locally on
your device and verified against Apple's receipt system.
- Subscription management, cancellation, and refunds are handled through
your iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, per Apple's policy.
8. Third-Party Services
AuthenticCam does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising,
or tracking services. The App does not contain any third-party SDKs that
collect user data. The only Apple frameworks used are AVFoundation (camera),
Photos (library access), CoreLocation (optional GPS tagging), CryptoKit (hash
computation), and StoreKit (purchases) — all of which operate locally on
your device.
9. Children's Privacy
AuthenticCam is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not
knowingly collect any information from children. The App does not collect
any data from any users regardless of age.
10. Data Security
Since AuthenticCam does not collect, transmit, or store any user data on
external servers, there is no risk of data breaches or unauthorized access
to your information through our App. Your photos, settings, and usage data
remain securely on your device under your complete control.
11. Your Rights and Choices
You have complete control over the App and your data:
- Your Photos: You can view, share, and delete photos
directly from the in-app gallery or from Apple's Photos app at any
time. Deleting a photo from the AuthenticCam album moves it to
Recently Deleted per Apple's standard behavior.
- All App Data: You can delete all app data by
uninstalling the App from your device. Uninstalling removes all
locally stored settings, trial counters, and purchase receipts from
the App's sandbox. Photos already saved to your Photo Library will
remain unless you delete them separately.
- Camera / Photos / Location Access: You can revoke any
of these permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy &
Security. Previously saved photos are not affected.
- Subscriptions: You can cancel an active subscription
at any time via iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be
reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We
encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
If we make material changes to how we handle user information, we will
provide notice through the App or App Store listing.
14. International Users

through the Apple App Store. Since the App does not collect or transmit any
personal data, there are no cross-border data transfers or regional privacy
considerations.
